Creosote Sessions - Unique 7" Lathe Cut Records
On December 7th, 2021, Ben Sparaco, Aaron Lawson, and I did a one-of-a-kind recording session in Tucson Arizona with lathe-cut-mastermind Mike Dixon.
While we performed live in a cleaned-out abandoned school bus, the music was recorded, mixed down to a mono-master, and simultaneously cut with vintage lathe-cut machines into discs.
This means that every single disc is a unique recording of a unique performance. There are no duplicates, no replications, no digital masters -- each one is an edition of one. None will ever be (or could ever be) duplicated or re-made. Each moment exists uniquely on each record.
But that was just the music part...
Back home after tour, I went through my collection of 1960s and 1970s Arizona Highway magazines and cut out resonant images for cover art, again, with each disc having a unique photo. I also designed and printed the back label (which includes song lyrics and credits), and hand-wrote the on-disc labels.
So, you'll receive a unique record of a unique musical performance, with no replication, with handmade one-of-a-kind artwork.
